Know Your Island Walks
Join the Trails Committee for group hikes on San Juan Island on the last Saturday of each month at 10am. Bring plenty of water, sunscreen, and sturdy walking shoes. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Please see the Island Rec calendar for more detailed information.

Stay active and explore our community at the After-School Cycling Club. Birdwatching
Explore San Juan Island with our eagle eye birdwatching guide, Tyler Davis. These walking tours will allow for opportunities to learn about the variety of birds and habitats right in our own backyard. No experience needed; but binoculars are highly recommended.

Tour d’Family Island Bike Ride
A family bike ride for all ages, coordinated by San Juan County Health and Community Services, The Trails Committee and Island Rec. Travel together around Pear Point Loop and back. No pre-registration required, just come with your helmets and bikes! All young riders must have a parent or guardian with them. Bikes available if needed.

Drop-in to the gym on Saturday mornings with your little one! Join us on Saturday mornings for drop-in gym time with your little one. Enjoy time on the play mats, climbing wall, and in the gym. There will be running, jumping, laughing, and fun while developing gross motor skills and getting out of the house. Get out of the house for some serious play, running, and jumping while developing gross motor skills. Bring a strider bike or scooter for extra fun indoors! Active supervision by a guardian is required.

Resolution Run/Walk 5k & Salish Splash
Start your year off right by sprinting into the New Year at Island Rec’s annual Resolution Run/Walk 5k! The route starts and ends at Jackson Beach so you can enjoy the optional polar dip in the Salish Sea after your run. Fires will be lit, and snacks will be available. Please make sure to bring a warm change of clothes if you plan on splashing with us. Beanies available for the first 80 registered!
